I Excel 2007 har man verkligen jobbat med att förbättra hanteringen av OLAP-data. Vi fick se en utav de bästa sessionerna med mycket demo och väldigt kunniga föreläsare.
Man började visa hur enkelt man skapar ett Analysis Services projekt med Data source, Data source view och därefter en kub med wizarden.
I Excel 2007 fick vi sedan se det nya gränssnittet och hur man nu på ett enklare sätt kan koppla upp sig mot datakällor. Pivottabellhanteraren är helt ny med bland annat följande nyheter:
- Gruppering av dimensioner och attribut (Display folders)
- Mätetal grupperade i Measure groups
- Nya tabellformer med bland annat Compact form table
- Bättre filtrering av rapporter
- Filtrera attribut
- Top X i hierarkier
- Färdigdefinierade datafilters, YTD mm.
- Använda Named set
- KPI
Datahanteringen i nya Excel ser riktigt bra ut och kommer att bli ett lyft för slutanvändarna. Mycket av funktionaliteten man saknat finns nu implementerade.
